In post 1.1, you saw we trailed Celtic by just a couple of points going into the newly introduced Scottish winter break. We did still have to play them twice, however, and after our narrow 1-0 defeat against them at Celtic Park, they had the upper hand going into the home stretch of my first season in charge of Aberdeen. Here’s how the second half of the season panned out.
Just a quick post today detailing some of the stand outs of the first youth intake of my time in charge of Aberdeen.
We’re rested and refreshed after our winter break over the New Year, and sitting pretty in 2nd place in the Scottish Premiership. Up next in the league? Celtic, away from home.
One thing I didn’t mention in the introductory post to this save, is that I was writing it while already being at the half way point of the season. The restructure of the Scottish leagues has seen the introduction of a 2 week winter break over the New Year, the perfect time to stop and reflect on how we’ve done so far.
After ending the 2016 season we ended with promotion, in this post we’re doing some analysis to see how well our attacking players performed. At the moment I don’t have radars for defenders but may in future. If you haven’t already, you can see my end of season review here.

Scotland used to be on the European football map. Not anymore.
Aberdeen used to be a force to be reckoned with, not just at home, but abroad too. Not anymore.
It’s time to bring those times back again. The Scottish Professional Football League has just been restructured, and it’s time to restore the glory days back to the Granite City, and back to Scottish football.
Sorry I haven’t posted recently but due to exams and being on holiday I haven’t had much time for FM. But, I’m back now and plan of storming through the seasons with this save with regular short posts. So keep your eyes peeled!
Well, well, well. Hello again. It’s been a while hasn’t it. Just over a month to be exact. A month is a long time in the FM Community, and you’ve probably all forgotten that I left Morton to join Spurs for the 2024/25 season. If you had, read this to catch up on my intro post and then come back here and find out how we got on over the course of the season.
First season is done which you can read here, and I’ve made my preparations, signings which you can see here for the 2016 season and summarised it in this short post. I have started the season by playing the Upper League Cup which finishes before the regular season starts.
